To calls of do’ya wanna build a snowman we looked out on the first proper snow of 2019 here in Herefordshire. Copper Hill overlooking the River Wye was a few inches deep in snow although it had already begun to clear from the valley below. A very brisk walk up the hill and along the ridge belied the headwind coming back. The resultant windchill reduced verbal communication to a minimum and nose dripping to a maximum.

The morning walk produced some nice snow shots but we also made a last minute decision to return at sunset. Asking a teenager for a last minute decision to go back out into the snow is always fraught with danger, I was quite prepared to just “Let It Go”, but to my surprise and delight the request landed favourably.

After lots of huffing and puffing with a fuller equipment bag and tripod we ‘summited’ the hill once more, but well worth the effort.

Photography effort 13,996 steps, 5.6miles and the equivalent of 52 floors climbed.
