Schools are back, but there are still a few short days till I go back to work. Weather looks promising but I have missed the sunrise. Always worth a walk out though, so I decide on a trip to Pontsticill Reservoir and then up through the forest to the foot of the Brecon Beacons. An unexpected pleasure to be at peace with my own thoughts after the hustle and bustle of Christmas.
What a great feeling being back in the hills again - like falling in love with a childhood sweetheart all over again! I used to visit a lot when I was a Venture Scout, indeed I did my Queen’s Scout Award hike not far from here, but now I live a lot nearer I hardly manage to find the time to make the visit. I can feel a New Year’s resolution coming on………..
Step Count 7459 (but quite uppy downy)
