Poppies and Sculptures
June was a month of poppies in the fields and the Knife Angel came to Hereford Cathedral. A contrast of wild beauty and making good use of items with a gruesome past.

The Knife Angel Sculpture
What an awesome job to produce this sculpture which is touring the UK to raise awareness of knife crime.
The Knife Angel is a contemporary sculpture formed of 100,000 knives created by artist Alfie Bradley and the British Ironworks Centre, based in Oswestry, England. Completed in 2018, the structure of the angel stands at 27 ft tall. It visited Hereford Cathedral during later June / July and attracted a lot of visitors.
Night Time Night Angel
I patiently waited for a rainy night - not a long wait in the summer of 2021. The reflections in the pavement were amazing and I met a lot of very happy people as they came out of the local pubs and restaurants.
Knife Angel Two
There was such a lot of social media posted for the Knife Angel that it became difficult to find something a little different. Hopefully worth a night in the rain just for the reflections alone.
Wild Poppies, No Sun
I was lucky enough to find this field of wild poppies just around the corner from our home. The poppies put on a magnificent performance, shame the sun didn’t get to see it!
