Looking out of the window from my warm, dry hotel room the evening looked inhospitable. I had the wet weather gear and the camera in a water proof bag (all the gear but no idea!) but my willpower was weak. The potential for some great reflections was high and the Christmas lights were shining on Oxford Street and Regent Street. All I had to do was put one foot in front of the other and click the shutter a few times and it would all be worthwhile.

Several hours later and a lot wetter I came back happy that I had caught a few images which I knew wouldn’t require much work in Lightroom before publishing.

I try and travel light so I use Lightroom on my iPad and try to do the bare minimum, preferring to capture the essence of the moment in the camera rather than on the computer. I aspire to be a good photographer not a good IT guy!
